Re: PC Builders

Replaced some bad capacitors in an old dell ultrasharp 1680x1050 I had and put it in portrait. Don't have an active mini displayport to dvi connector so I enabled the HD4000 on my cpu and run the 1440x900 monitor off of it.

Re: PC Builders

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236117 Unless any of you give me a reason not to I'm buying this. I'd prefer the one without the sound bar but as far as I can see they're exactly the same, and the same price, but the one with the sound bar has free shipping. It's an ASUS mo...

Re: PC Builders

Yes. I've got a 3770k @ 4ghz and 16gb of ram @ 1600mhz... It's got enough headroom to not be maxed for a few more years. (or so battlefield 3 would indicate, as it abused my core 2 quad and my brothers phenomII x4, and does not abuse my i7 last I checked) Planning on a 7950 crossfire at some point. ...

Re: Thread of random discontent

It's been a few weeks and I'm already on the search for a single off-campus apartment for next year. I like my solitude. This is interesting, but I don't think it's my cup of tea. Never had a problem living with my ex, because she never left dirty dishes all over and such, but this gets frustrating ...

Re: Thread of random discontent

I don't understand the appeal of ramen, you know it's bad for you but you still eat it. Maybe it's because I grew up in a household where homemade dinner was made every night. It's actually not that bad. The noodles alone aren't much more than flour, oil, and some water. It's the seasoning packet t...

Re: PC Builders

I'm on a 212 evo in push/pull (and unrestricted front to back of case direct airflow...) and my 3770k at 4ghz with 1.05v (can probably back it down more too) idles around 5-10C over ambient depending on the core and tops out around 55-60C in 28C ambient. Pretty happy with that until I invest in some...

Re: PC Builders

That's good to hear. Also, would you recommend overclocking now or in the future? I'm constantly running 3.8gHz right now on my PC and it's fast enough for me, but I do want to overclock. When do you think I should do it? What cooler do you have? Even something like a 212 evo (which are actually ve...

Re: PC Builders

That's why I built the desk, can't have something so beautiful sitting on the floor.

Kind of sad I couldn't use the delta fan... I would imagine 240CFM and 27mm h2o would have some pretty nice effects on my cpu temps. Oh well, might as well wait to liquid cool everything.

On the table...

Delta AFB1212GHE

Unfortunately I can't fit a 38mm thick fan on my heatsink due to the DIMMs. :(
