Re: Thread of random content and happiness

I went to Monterey Car Week yesterday, brought my BMW E24 which was a conversation starter. One of the auction venues could only be viewed by bidders, but I got in because I knew the security guard working the door. Lots of cool stuff inside... Jaguar E-Types, 1st/2nd Gen Corvettes, Mustang Boss 429...

Re: VFC Scar-L: STD vs CQC?

I didn't come here to argue, but my furthest kill in airsoft was done with a KWA G17. The most accurate AEG I've ever used was my CA SCAR-L with a CQC barrel and a few upgrades. I actually did chop 6 inches off the barrel of a Tokyo Marui FAMAS, but the gun was multifeeding and I couldn't tell if th...

Re: VFC Scar-L: STD vs CQC?

Unlike firearms, since there is room between the projectile and barrel during transit, barrel length has little to do with accuracy. I would go with standard length because bigger gun = more eye catching = more intimidating = street cred.

Re: ACU vs BDU in terms of fit

They will be the same. However, they don't use measurements as size like manufactures do with jeans. Here is a resource to figure out which size you need: http://www.patriotsurplus.com/size-charts/ As long as you order from the same manufacturer, they should be virtually the same. However, I recomme...

Re: Thread of Random Thoughts

I've been doing some thinking about this, and I don't know if I want a pocket gun as a first pistol. It would not be fun at the range. At all. Plus I figure that a bigger weapon would be more intimidating in the event that shooting isn't necessary. Yeah, I understand that flashing a gun is a crimina...

Re: Thread of random content and happiness

It's nothing spectacular, but if you dig John Moses Browning, maybe it's your destiny man. But it's in mint condition and it works just as good as any new shotgun...without their fancy recoil buffering systems...or padded stocks...or interchangeable chokes...

Re: Thread of Random Thoughts

.380, 9x19mm, or 9x18mm for conceal carry? Depends on your personal needs. I am going to go 9x19mm because it's $11 a box for Tula FMJ (at least where I am), so I can shoot it a lot and readily find cheap plinking ammo for it. .380 is going to be smaller and easier to conceal, but may be slightly h...

Re: Thread of random content and happiness

Plus, shooting a 107 year old rifle designed by John Browning and made while he was still alive is just awesome. If you ever come to the east coast, you're welcome to shoot it. I have a 1937 Remington Model 11 chambered in 16g that you're also welcome to shoot if you find yourself over here. I use ...

Re: Thread of random content and happiness

All the fudds at the range are going to think you're from another dimension shooting something like that. I'm usually lucky that when I go to the range it's either empty or the people there don't want to talk. It's a private club, with most of the members being hunters, so there are only a few mall...
