No you didn't and no it didn't, freeze a paintball and it turns to mush, paintballs aren't water balloons, they have all sorts of particles in the fill that prevents this (ranging from cornstarch to glycerol). Plus when you freeze a paintball the shell becomes MORE brittle making it break more easily and hurt less. My source of information comes from about 8 years of paintballing experience, 4 of which were competitive. As a competitive team we would refrigerate our paintballs for a few nights before our tournaments so that they would be more brittle and break where un-refrigerated paintballs would bounce. Add to the fact that paintballs when frozen (in a freezer) thaw in about 3 minutes once removed even if he could get them solid enough to be hard they'd have thawed by the time he got where ever he was going to play. The ONLY way for someone to shoot a hard frozen paintball through a gun is if they were out on the field with a bottle of liquid nitrogen or something, and if you ever see that you may want to tell the refs and play elsewhere.
