the bill is still at the assembly committee. I am not sure whether it is being read or they are voting on it, all I can tell you is that it is there right now and you may keep calling and sending in letters to try and get the assemblymen to vote no on the bill.

Some quick questions! This bill only effect to CA right? (Hope it won't spread around)
Can GI still selling black gun to out of state customers? Because I only effect to players in CA.(Basing on the bill)
And did they decide what specific colors for "bright colors" ?
I'm so sorry for airsoft player in CA if the bill is passed.

Will this bill affect CA only? Yes and no. Yes, it will affect us only because its a California bill, but as AirsoftGI and other companies have stated, most airsoft guns are imported through California. If they come through here, they must be painted. It also could have a trickle down effect where other states may think it is a good idea and try to imitate the law , which means it can spread.
As for the colors "the entire exterior surface of such toy or imitation firearm is colored white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright blue, bright pink or bright purple, either singly or as the predominant color in combination with other colors in any pattern; or such toy or imitation firearm is constructed entirely of transparent or translucent materials which permits unmistakable observation of the imitation or toy firearm's complete contents" That is from the bill.
A lot of us are trying our best to have this bill not passed.

The bill will likely spread if passed.
There is a law exactly like this in Britain, yet airsoft is still on thin ice there. Maybe the dumb-as-doorknobs senators should look at Britain and see how much of a failure this bill will be.

Someone tell airsoft to pack their bags and head to Texas, we will gladly take the airsoft industry. And trust me, we would NEVER pass such a stupid law lol! No one takes guns from Texans

If/when the bill passes, I don't think there's a hell of a lot Airsfot GI can do, unless they're willing to move the business out of California. Even then, I don't think it would much matter, given how so many airsoft guns move through Californian ports anyway, and if I recall correctly, the bill would mandate they be in bright colors or be made of clear plastic.
