JGW M24 Cylinder

Postby lukebev » Tue Apr 10, 2012 5:50 pm

Hello, I have been having some problems with my JGW m24. I was using it in a game the other day, and when I cycled the bolt back, the back of the cylinder ripped off along with the bolt handle. I am looking to replace the entire cylinder in order to get the rifle to shoot again. I was wondering if anyone has actually replaced this part in this gun.
There has been a lot of discussion about the JGW m24, and from what I gather, everything should be APS2 compatible. However, to me, it seems that the back of the cylinder where the bolt handle attaches is different than an APS2 cylinder.

On the JGW M24, it seems to be more a VSR-10 cylinder?

If anyone know what cylinder I would need, or any advice on how to replace the cylinder, it would be most appreciated!

After rewording my searches, I believe I have answered my own question.
Assuming that the JGW M24 is completely APS2 compatible, I would need to get a new APS2 cylinder, and a new APS2 bolt handle. The combination of these two, will give me a cylinder that fits in the gun, and a bolt handle that will attach to the cylinder, and also fit the polymer stock of the rifle.
Assuming all of this is correct, does anyone have any recommendations on what cylinder would be a good replacement. I have heard good things about laylax and pdi? I am looking for something that isn't going to snap in half after a few hundred shots. Also any ideas on an APS2 bolt handle, the laylax is the only one I can find. It seems good, but carries a hefty price tag. Thanks again!
