VFC pdw motor

If it has a battery and a gearbox, this is where it belongs

VFC pdw motor

Postby bemoded » Wed Aug 31, 2011 8:56 am

So i am planning on increasing the ROF in my vfc pdw. I know that the motor is not a long type so i want to know what type it is and which one i should get. I also want to try to short stroke the piston so what is the best piston to do that. Thanks!

I'm not sure about the motor but why would you short stroke the piston and not the sector gear? I recommend SHS pistons, this one in particular since it's already lightened and has the 2nd to last tooth removed. You should also shave the 3rd to last tooth down if you plan on correcting the AoE.

I recommend chronographing the gun first before short stroking since ASGI specs state that it shoots "375-400 FPS" which pretty much means it has either an M110 or M120 spring in it. VFC's website states 100 m/s so who knows what yours will actually be shooting at. Also why do you want to short stroke? It won't exactly boost your ROF... if you want to lower the FPS then that's fine although a spring change will obviously do that. If premature engagement is an issue get some ARS sorbo or get a 70 Durometer 3/16 inch sheet from here but it probably won't last as long.

I want a high rof for cqc and i thaught that short stroking did that. if not then i wont. i think the motor is a short type so what kind should i get. i also dont particularly like the grip so can i change it to a magpul pts moe grip so its a long type?

Reviews say it's shorter than a long type motor so it's either short or medium. The SHS high speed motor is great for the price.

Yes you can swap out the pistol grip to make it a long type motor.

Short stroking does not increase rof.

What does short stroking do besides lower the fps?

Lowers FPS? I don't believe that's correct. It corrects the angle of alignment between the gears and piston giving longevity.

The only purpose of short stroking (unless you want to reliably lower muzzle velocity) is to prevent premature engagement in those 40+ rps setups.
