Army L85 and UAR

If it has a battery and a gearbox, this is where it belongs

Army L85 and UAR

Postby B13 2.0 » Wed May 22, 2013 2:37 pm

I'm looking into getting a new gun and I was thinking of getting something uncommon. I remembered these guns and was interested to find out more info on them. First the UAR , does it take mid caps, and anything else that might be a negative? Next the Army Armament L85, how is it really? If I were to buy one and would I have to worry about anything breaking or malfunctioning soon after purchasing, that would inhibit its performance? I have a budget of about $220 for a gun if anyone has any suggestions for a nice field weapon. Thanks for your time!

UAR didn't take the midcaps that I had on hand, due to an odd design. If you modify the mags and/or gun a bit, but filing or cutting down the tap on top of the mag, midcaps should be able to fit.

So far haven't had good experiences with a UAR, probably a lemon though.

Not my own personally, but I was with a friend when he got his from a sweepstakes.
Wouldn't cycle unless you pulled the trigger twice. He might have gotten it fixed by now. If not, I'll see if I can fix it. If I do, I'll tell you about the guts.

EDIT: Hopefully I'll get a hold of it this weekend, tell you what is going on inside.
EDIT 2: Or June 15th, whatever.

The Only thing Ill say is that with an uncommon gun, things get pricy. If you have money, Ignore this. but mags, externals, and accessories can be expensive, if they are even available. not to mention that some of the internals could be pretty pricy as well.
