Condor / OE Tech Plate Carrier Setup

Postby Kitokashiki » Wed Apr 30, 2014 1:54 pm

So far I'm going to get a Molle Admin Pouch & 2 Dual M4 Kangaroo Magazine Pouches.

Is there anything else that you would recommend?

First some more information would be of great use. Such as what plate carrier do you have? What gun do you use, I'm going to assume a M4 and some kind of pistol. What kind of games do you play, and how long. Finally, I'm going to guess your new to gear, but what do you think you need?

3, 4, 6, or 8 mags for a primary is pretty standard. Admin pouches for most players are just places to put patches. And most modern plate carriers already have Velcro, or admin pouches built in, but I am unsure if condor copies that. The other big thing is hydration, you should defiantly have some way of hydrating yourself it you are playing outdoors, but if the games are indoors and are around 15 minutes, you should be fine.

Another thing we should know is your budget, how much can you spend, I bet you can afford better pouches than condor. Better gear doesn't cost that much if you know where to look.

and this Vest

Well I guess I'm going to ditch the Admin pouch since I'm not going to use patches.
The place I'm going to is indoors and I think the game is like 20-30 mins ea maybe an hour.
And I don't have anything yet I just want to know what's a good setup and go from there,If I have to save up the cash for it I will

OK, do you have the carrier yet? It looks like a copy of a MARCIRAS, which is a pretty bulky carrier, I personally would get something lighter, but that's preference. I would recommend getting Pantac and Flyye for repro gear, their gear is of much higher quality, for not much more.

You could get a Flyye EPC with pouches http://www.shootercbgear.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_50_51_95&products_id=690
Or their MARCIRAS if you are set on that design http://www.shootercbgear.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_50_51_95&products_id=397

Having some form of hydration is a good idea, but since it is indoors, you can probably just go back to the staging area. Your call really, water is always a good idea though.

Pouches wise, an admin is meant to hold items like pens, maps, papers, and small flatter items, mainly administrative things, if you need a place to throw your wallet, it's not a bad idea. I would recommend either a triple shingle or 2 doubles (mag pouches). A GP pouch for any random miscellaneous items you need to store. Get pistol mag pouches if you have any spare pistol mags. And possibly a hydration pouch on the back.

Sorry for the wall of text.

I like the look of the carrier mostly, yeah I've been considering getting a hydration pack for it incase I get thristy during the game. But mostly I'll be carrying like 6 M4/6 Pistol Magazine's, And for the Admin pouch I'd could just have a map of the place and carry a Flashlight or Speedreloader. Basically a Kangaroo Pouch can have both M4/Pistol mag on it(since the name Kangaroo). But so far I want a Dump Pouch,Dual M4 Kangaroo Pouch,Admin Pouch,Hydration Carrier,Utility Pouch,Radio Pouch.

Or do something like this setup though.

Yeah, I know what a kangaroo pouch is. You should look at other people's carriers to get an idea of pouch placement. Gearsoc would be a good place to see CIRAS setups, but AFAIK they are still down.

Good places to buy them would be SKD tactical and OP tactical. GI doesn't have that many pouches beyond condor, but if you are mainly buying from GI, I would recommend pantac, specter, and BFG.
