My customized Glock 18C from KWA. The gun is actually non functioning right now, unfortunately ive had issues with the internals of the slide, and i cant find the parts to replace it.
Started as a basic KWA Glock 18C.
I polished the slide first, the gun came with a madbull barrel from the Previous Owner. I installed a gaurder steel guide rod to give it a little more recoil. I did some ergo mods after.
this is the gun as a whole, its sitting on the issue of Combat Tactics with the Salient Glock article that i took most of my mods from. yes the gun is missing its front sight, when i did the polish it disappeared and since its non functioning, i havent bothered to replace it.
first was to scallop the trigger gaurd on the right side, this allows the finger to naturally sit on the gaurd when not firing. Its a simple but elegant modification that helps with gun safety as well as natural handling.
the second mod was to grind down the finger notch at the base of the trigger gaurd. This allows the gun to sit higher in my hand, which helps with grip, and overall handling. It gives me a fast draw to proper grip and allows me more leverage over the gun in general.
the last mod, which you can see in the first image, was to simply grind down the finger grooves that all 3rd and 4th generation Glocks come with. Personally, i find that the grooves while working fine with a bare hand, with a glove makes it harder to grip the gun completely. While not an issue with airsoft, with a real steel Glock, i prefer the thumb groove and rail offered on the 3rd gen Glocks, but dont really like the finger grooves. Quite a lot of guys grind offf those grooves with the real steel as well.
Overall the gun has become a joy to handle and i love it completely, i just need to find the parts to fix her up and get it working again! For **** and giggles, i doubled the recoil spring with an old spring from a WE 1911 i had laying around. the slide feels realistic but i doubt the gas would be able to properly cycle the slide.
