Airsoft GI Exchange? Help!

I was going to buy a stick nunchuck battery but it was out of stock.
Like a noob at airsoft, the guy recommended a regular nunchuck, I bought it and when I tried putting it inside it wouldnt fit. The Battery is like new and I would like to exchange it for the stick nunchuck which runs at the same price.
I already emailed them but they said

Pending inspection and also if the battery is in new condition and never been charged . you will be given store credit to use that day but you must return it to the store asap.

Am I good to go to exchange it? I didnt really charge it. So will I be able to exchange it?
