Why do they weigh so much less than CA's M14s then?

under material it does not say magnesium.

Aluminum/Nylon/Fiber/Steel/Zinc/Plastic

I dunno why it would be lighter though :?:

I believe only their AK series (and SCAR's) use magnesium. Anyways, give it time, I'm sure my SCAR will still be working the next 2,3,4 etc years as well. I'm not saying 1 year is a long time, but you're not giving credit where credit it due. I mean..you made a group saying G4's are a waste...seriously?

Maybe CA M14's use pot metal? I don't really know. My G&G M14 weighs approx. 8.5 lbs. I'm not an expert chemist but the metal definitely does not seem like magnesium.

CAs are made from stamped steel. That's why they weigh so much.

Zinc is weak metal. I'm guessing the G&G's got a lot of aluminum content then.

Well, 95% of all the airsoft guns are made of some form of pot metal, it's just the zinc alloy mixture (AKA the really infamous pot metal that you hear breaking all the time), that gives all pot metal a bad rep. If they didn't use pot metal then almost all airsoft guns would be more expensive.

I would definitely recommend a G&G to anyone considering buying one. G&G is really stepping up their game because they sell expensive high quality guns (Top Tech etc.) and they also sell pretty decent cheaper guns like the Combat Machine. G&G is competing with Classic Army, KWA, VFC, and other expensive airsoft companies, but they also sell very affordable guns and give Echo 1, Dboys, and JG a run for their money. I personally have an Airsoft GI G4 a5 DMR, which is a G&G Combat Machine (blowback) with 12 inch URX rails and a 6.03mm inner barrel, and I LOVE IT. The gearbox is very nice, and the gearbox consists of metal and polycarb parts. The hop up is pretty good for a plastic one, and the accuracy is insane. However, I can agree that the wiring is that great, but all of the other qualities the gun has definitely compensate for it. I'm going to be swapping my hop unit for a metal madbull one, and my motor for a g&p m120 motor. Before I do, I'm going to open up my gearbox again and swap out anything I feel won't be up to par with the motor (mainly wear and tear, I've owned the gun for a year). I would definitely choose a G&G combat machine or gr16 over any other eonomical company like echo1 or JG. G&G's are better built internally and externally, and they start at $140. I'm pretty sure JG doesn't have any blowback AEG's like G&G does, and the blowback AEG's are only $30 more then the original type. G&G is also a very good buy for their more expensive products, but once you get into the $300s + I'd go with a KWA. G&G has a lot of gun models like UMG's that KWA doesn't though. Echo 1 is trying to step up their game also with newer and more expensive guns like the XCR and their platinum series m4's, but I think they're newer in that field and I've heard some horrible stories about echo 1 internals in the past, so I'd play it safe and go with a G&G.

Agreed. Blowback sucks. This is from a G&G Fanboy. I'm not saying don't buy one, I'm just saying I won't buy one ;)
