New SoCal Field - Rock-A-Hoola Water Park?!

Postby baklash 1337 » Wed Oct 19, 2011 10:02 pm

I've just been informed from my airsoft team (yeah...350 miles away from Los Angeles... :P ) that airsofters have "been given permission" to play at the abandoned Route 66-themed Rock-A-Hoola water park in SoCal. It sure sounds like a blast to me, but I'm way too far away to make a casual trip to play airsoft there. I don't even know if it's legal to be honest. If any of you SoCal airsofters are in the know, fill me in eh? Curious is all.

Here is a gallery of the park shot by a photographer who has an obsession with abandoned...stuff.

Link wasn't working for me, just simply follow this link to the main page and click on the first gallery ;)

Maybe they were just saying how OPLCMSS got permission to play there.

Freaking awesome. Reminds me of Carnival from MW2. I wonder how far it is from my house. :D

I'm probably not the only one, but I always fantasize about playing games in public places like schools, movie theaters, stadiums, parking garages, etc. This is a dream-come-true (if it's close enough).

It's only legal if the people who own the place give permission to play there as it is a private land.

I wonder who owns the place. It's a bit of a drive but a great OPs location.

Oh man, it's next to Barstow..? Okay, I didn't realize this place was smack in the desert. At least you can play there in the winter and spring, and maybe there will be some snow too!

Nah man, I think about how my school would be great too, but unfortunately it's probably not going to close down until:

A. The apocalypse
B. The dissolution of America
C. It gets destroyed by a natural disaster
Well, I'd better get started then. *insert evil.jpg*

Though my dream would have to be playing airsoft in the abandoned Six Flags in New Orleans.

Apparently the abandoned water park is owned by
S.L. Investment Group LLC of the City of Industry, California

It's too far out for a daily or weekly airsoft field with enough turn out unfortunately.

Hell I plan on buying some abandoned location that is not too far for a drive for SoCal players (2-3 hour drive at most)
and renovate it for airsoft ;)

At the rate of how California is with politics I might just move to Arizona. Still a free state in the 2nd amendment for open and concealed carry. It's a will issue state if I'm not mistaken.

Haha yeah, AZ laws are quite lenient (SP?).
